Buakaw is truly an excellent fighter, but I dont like his performance style, its just too stiff. I was expecting something more like Tony Jaa’s style.
Great fighter and inspiration nonetheless.

@bizzle187 there is no such thing as dutch muay thai. dutch mainly fight kickboxing or modified muay thai with no elbows, not full thai rules. Buakaw fought hollands best k1 max fighter andy souwer and got robbed twice bcos of the japanese judges and knocked hiim out once. He fought probably hollands 2nd best k1 max fighter kraus 4 times, beat him twice in k1, lost once against him in k1 and got robbed against him in netherlands.

@khazal12 If you don’t pivot, you’re putting all the pressure on your knee… and goodbye knee. The real strength comes from your hips. Turning the hips in such way that you let all your body weight lay on the kicking leg, that’s it, you’re blowing heads.

If you can answer this, does stepping into the kick help? Or how about keeping the lead leg grounded (with the heel on the ground)? Does that get more power as you are weighted onto a base? Also are you thinking about your knee position? Sorry too many questions

@EarthSh4ker “not trying to win”? weak attitude. this is why you should stfu with your criticism. first off, you saw 1000′s do it wrong? i call bullshit, unless it was 1000 guys who just started training. half the guys at my gym do it perfectly. second, chump, a simple high kick or low kick or any other BASIC kick is easy to learn. western boxing is ten times harder and far more technical. its pretty accurate to say 95% of thais (even pros) can’t box to save their life; what you said is pure BS.

I SAID THEY CAN BUT THEY DON’T WANT TO. how simple is that to read? never saw a foreigner kick properly. never. they don’t wanna learn it. they just come practice it a week or something and then keep doing the things they already knew before they came.

@EarthSh4ker thais are always so jealous that american/dutch fighters are better than them at their own sport. anyone can be taught how to kick properly for any martial art, it doesn’t matter. techniques can be learned, athleticism cannot. deal with it.

@DanEraser Muay thai Kick, never saw a foreigner do it right or as quick as thai ppl do. ONLY RAMON DEKKERS DID. proper training and shit. Ofc they can do it if they want to, but they don’t even try to learn it. That’s why foreigners kick the thai kick wrong. That’s what I meant. And I’ve seen SOOOOOO many foreigners doing muay thai. Not even one did it right. Thousands of them lol

This is one of the more ignorant comments I’ve heard. You don’t have to be a Thai to being able to kick like this. With the proper training and good stretching and exercises, any Muay thai boxer from any nationality can kick liket his. Some even better. Stop being ignorant, and start to get real
